________ NOX FACTIO

L’Estive residency

Residency of Nox Factio, Elise Vandewalle et Andrés Ramirez
Avec Franck Balland, Clara Guislain, Flora Katz, Sophie Lapalu, Jean-Baptiste Mognetti, Elisa Rigoulet

The use of communication media as a relay for the experience of production time and the highlighting of the peripheral forms of the relationship to the work of art form the perspectives and challenges of our summer residency at Glassbox. The transformation of experience and object into information material will provide an opportunity to subjectively reassess the foundations of the latter, i. e. the reality of its content as well as its translation or interpretation through communication and diffusion strategies.

WHO KNOWS /
Speech by Jean-Baptiste Mognetti
July 26th from 7 p.m.

Blinky Palermo (1943–1977) – whose real name is Peter Heisterkamp – is still too underestimated in France today. His art, both discreet and striking, oscillating between painting, object, environment and graphic practice, nevertheless benefits from international recognition. Part of Elise Vandewalle and Andrés Ramirez’s residency project in Glassbox is therefore to invite art historian Jean-Baptiste Mognetti, a specialist in Blinky Palermo, to introduce as an event based on analysis and poetry as well as artistic practice and musicality the enigmatic figure of this atypical student of Joseph Beuys in Düsseldorf, while reflecting on the new approaches embraced by critics, particularly in Germany and the United States. A way of welcoming research in contemporary art at the very heart of the artistic display.

Elise Vandewalle and Andrés Ramirez (Nox factio) as well as Jean Baptiste Mognetti, would like to warmly thank Ulla Wiegand and Claudia Pasko, from the Konrad Fisher Gallery (Düsseldorf) and Carme Grandas, from the city of Barcelona, for their precious help.
